Dan Garcia has been playing in bands since 1980 when he put together The Matchheads with Patrick Wickler, Robert Mason, Steve Johnson and Ross Wilson.  The Matchheads played around the San Francisco (SF) scene in the early 1980’s and released one single on Artiste Records.  Their recorded work can be found on the following compilations: Sins Of Our Fathers, Killed By Death 8 ½, Meet Me In The Time Tunnel and Power For Passion).  Dan plays guitar and harmonica on the Blue Echo sessions and wrote all of the tunes in the current Blue Echo project.  He also played with The Mohawks and the Gassers in SF during the early to mid 1980’s.  Later he put together the Flying Dutchmen with Robert Mason, Don Zimmer and Rich Rickman.  They released two CDs in the early 1990’s, one which was picked up by Taxim Records in 1996.  Dan moved to Hawaii in 1999 where he currently resides.  The Dutchmen released The Other Side in 2006 on Jeffy Pop Records.  Other recent releases include Songs For Trick Or Treaters EP and Striking The Wick.  The basics were recorded at GetReel Productions in San Francisco in March 2019.  The project is still in progress and when finished will include a total of nine songs in the powerpop, post punk, surf and roots rock styles.
